Like The Lamplighter Effect, this project was born out of an idea to make a collaborative art piece, together with all of the students at the Lamplighter School, for sale at their annual fundraiser. The theme of the year’s event ended up being classic: “Big & Bright.” And what shines big and bright deep in the heart of Texas? Stars! Inspired by twilight of a West Texas sky, I carefully layered hundreds of paper stars and had them cascade down the canvas, moving from deep blues to bright pinks. 

Fun fact: Each star was painted by one of the 473 students enrolled at the Lamplighter School during the 2021-2022 school year.
